The "Art and Culture Itineraries" Project has been funded by the Italy - Switzerland Interreg Cooperation Programme and includes Etroubles and Martigny among its partners. The purpose is to exploit the potential of the two centres by promoting their cultural and artistic heritage thanks to the presence of the Giannada Foundation and the "Le Manoir" Foundation in Martigny, and of the "art trail through the streets of the Village" in Etroubles.
The promoters of the initiative aim to encourage visitors making an "obligatory stop" at the Giannada Foundation to investigate the wider range of artistic and cultural attractions which extend as far as the Aosta Valley, finding at Etrouble an original approach to the presentation of a series of important works by international artists. The project forms the basis for an itinerary of exceptional value which also combines historical and archaeological resources when the Roman remains of Martigny and the Great St Bernard Pass are considered. Etroubles therefore becomes the fitting place to begin exploring the artistic heritage of an area which extends as far as a visit to the thousand-year old city of Aosta with its many monuments and works of art.
